MoU Signing between the National Organizing Committee of the 10th World Water Forum and Sponsor Partners

The success of the 10th World Water Forum will be possible because of the support of sponsor partners. Therefore, in order to establish a harmonious relationship with the sponsors, the National Organizing Committee of the 10th World Water Forum held a "Dinner Meeting and MoU Signing" in Jimbaran, Bali on Wednesday (11/10).

During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was jointly signed by the National Organizing Committee of the 10th World Water Forum with sponsor partners, attended by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (MPWH) Basuki Hadimuljono as Vice Chairman of the National Organizing Committee of the 10th World Water Forum, and the Secretary General of MPWH Mohammad Zainal Fatah.

A number of registered sponsor partners of the 10th World Water Forum includes World Bank, Google Cloud, Danone Indonesia, Perum Jasa Tirta I, Perum Jasa Tirta II, PT Nindya Karya, CITIC Envirotech Indonesia, and PT Moya Indonesia.

Vice President of the World Water Council (WWC) Éric Tardieu appreciated the private sector for their contribution to the 10th World Water Forum. "The water issue is an important issue due to its impact on daily life and economic development. Therefore, those operating in the water sector and outside the water sector need to collaborate for the success of the 10th World Water Forum and a better future of the water sector," said Éric Tardieu.

Minister Basuki said that the signing of MoU was a form of commitment to support the organization of the  10th World Water Forum in May 2024. "This is an opportunity for various parties to take part in the internationally renowned event in which Indonesia is chosen as the host country," he added.

"Concerning the form of sponsorship, it is not necessarily financial, but also in many other forms, such as publication of books entitled "Water for Shared Prosperity" by the World Bank and IT support by Google which is very useful in facilitating the registration of participants," said Minister Basuki.

The sponsorship is an opportunity given by the Indonesian Government to partners (notably the private sector) to be part of the 10th World Water Forum. "The 10th World Water Forum will raise the issue of water justice and water for shared prosperity. Many islands in the world are experiencing water shortages, thus your support will be meaningful," he said.

Secretary General of MPWH Mohammad Zainal Fatah said that sponsor partners can participate in various forms, such as Earmarked Sponsorship, Social & Hospitality Event, Convener (Side Event & Parallel Event), and Retail Sponsorship. "However, we are very open to discuss other possible forms of sponsorship. Sponsor partners can also participate in the 10th World Water Forum Fair and Expo which will be held on 18-24 May 2024 in 5 locations including Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Bali International Convention Center, Bali Collection and Art, and Kuta Beach," said Secretary General Zainal Fatah.

Regarding the Expo, Secretary General Zainal Fatah said that the committee has prepared a floor space of approximately 6,000 m2 which could accommodate around 25 countries and 182 international/local organization/institutions.

"We have been gaining support and commitment from various organizations and companies including 33 national and international companies, as well as 2 international organizations," said Secretary General Zainal Fatah. He added that the signing of this MoU will be followed up with a Cooperation Agreement, to secure the partnership commitment and provide mutual benefits for all.
