Media Registration Opens, Indonesia Encourages Journalists to Promote Sustainable Water Management at the 10th World Water Forum

Jakarta - The 10th World Water Forum would be a golden opportunity for Indonesia to encourage and inspire the world through high-level initiatives in addressing the global water issues. "We will emphasize the importance of the political commitment to sustainable water management as well as promote our three missions to the largest international forum in the water sector." said Special advisor to the Minister of Public Works and Housing of the Republic of Indonesia. Endira S. Atmawidjaja, during a virtual press conference titled "Media Registration and Coverage for the 10th World Water Forum", Tuesday (16/4/2024).

"We hope the media will support us and play its part as the bridge or information intermediary on the global water challenges and solutions." he added.

He further elaborated the Indonesian government's three important goals in the Forum, scheduled for 18-25 May 2024, including the establishment of Centre of Excellence of Water and Climate Resilience (COE), the mainstreaming of Integrate Water Resources Management (IWRM) on small and the designation of the World Lakes Day.

Registration for journalists and media covering the 10th World Water Forum is open from Tuesday (16/4/2024) to Saturday (11/5/2024) via official website  https://media.worldwaterforum.org. Foreign media journalists may also refer the site for details on registration and entry requirements.

Moreover, the Director General of Information and Public Communication (IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) Usman Kansong said that a Media Center, located at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) 2 in the Tanjung Banoa Hall and Legian Hall, will be prepared to welcome the journalists and serve as information center for the 10th World Water Forum.

"There we will provide press releases, photo, videos, and other supporting information and contents. Due to limited space for coverage, we will provide and distribute all the contents at the Media Center," said Usman.
