At Danone, we have a mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible in a sustainable manner. We believe that from the food and drink we choose to consume; we can decide what kind of planet we want to preserve and leave as our legacy for our generation to come. In line with this, sustainability and healthy product choices have been and will continue to be at the heart of our company’s foundation and we are committed to continuing our positive influence and contribution to Indonesia.
By upholding responsible and sustainable business, we also continue to promote sustainable water conservation throughout our operations and strive to protect and restore natural aquatic ecosystems involving collaboration with local communities and stakeholders.
Danone Indonesia aims to achieve a positive water impact in 2030, returning water to nature and the public, more than what we use through water circularity in a production system, achieving 52% efficiency. This goal is supported by our programs in protecting water resources and nature. By 2022 Danone already planted 2.5 million trees; developed 2,300 infiltration wells; empowered 1,000 farmers to conduct sustainable agriculture; enacted 137 hectare biodiversity park; and actively participated in four watershed forums. Danone Indonesia also contributes to clean water access for the community more than 15% of the water we use, and provides sanitation and hygiene with various programs for 500,000 beneficiaries in more than 70 villages.
Danone Indonesia is represented by two business categories: Waters (AQUA) and Specialized Nutrition (Nutrition to all key stages of life; pregnancy & lactating, growing up, and family milk, and medical nutrition).
