The Government of Indonesia, WWC, and UNESCO Signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Implementation of the 10th World Water Forum

Jakarta - The Government of Indonesia, the World Water Council (WWC), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) signed a memorandum of understanding or letter of intent on cooperation in holding the 10th World Water Forum at the Opening Ceremony Kick-Off Meeting the 10th World Water Forum at the Jakarta Convention Center, Monday (15/2/2023).

This memorandum of understanding on cooperation to support the holding of the 10th World Water Forum stipulates that all organizer can act within a mutually agreed framework of cooperation and be actively involved in cooperative activities carried out with the aim of the successful implementation of the 10th World Water Forum which will be held in Bali in May 2024.


The signing of the memorandum of understanding was carried out by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Mohammad Zainal Fatah, as Head of the Secretariat of the National Committee for Organizing the 10th World Water Forum, WWC President, Loic Fauchon, and Director of the Division of Water Sciences and Secretary of the Intergovernmental UNESCO Hydrological Program, Abou Amani. The signing was witnessed by Minister of Public Works and Housing, Basuki Hadimuljono, as Deputy Chair of the National Committee for Organizing the 10th World Water Forum.

The 10th World Water Forum, with the theme "Water of Shared Prosperity," will take place in Bali on May 18th - 24th, 2024. The World Forum in Bali is expected to draw 17,000 participants and 30,000 guests from 172 nations.

Minister Basuki said the World Water Forum is the largest water sector forum attended by all levels of stakeholders in the water sector to share experiences and innovations to answer various challenges in global water management.

"At the 10th World Water Forum, stakeholders at all levels must have the initiative and responsibility to immediately take bold and concrete actions. We need a change in attitude, awareness at all levels, initiative, responsibility, collaboration, solidarity, and financing which all lead to real action," he said
